Is This A Game To You?

Collaborative and Collective Practices
Is this a game to you?
“Throughout this project, we discovered that people know about climate change, and know the steps to stop it. As Norwegian psychologist Per Espen Stoknes claims, this is not a climate crisis, but a communication one. However, overwhelming headlines cause climate anxiety and inaction - people become complacent about living sustainably when it seems like the situation isn’t improving. But choosing to live a sustainable lifestyle can only do so much. Until governments implement legislation and stop endorsing fossil fuels, we won’t see the necessary reduction in carbon emissions to prevent global temperature from rising. Yet as the deadline gets nearer, not enough is being done by politicians to make meaningful change. And so we ask them, is this a game to you?

We have taken the domino effect metaphor to develop a game that summarises how climate change works, and to challenge you to stop it. ‘is this a game?’ confronts our role of complicity towards the government’s negligent attitude regarding the climate crisis.”
